Hello and Welcome to our website
"Homestead 101 East Texas Style"
We are Jerry and Doreen Baggett.
We moved to East Texas in 2021 hoping to get away from the rat race and all the craziness and stress of
Big City Life in San Antonio!
Jerry originally grew up in a small town in Texas and his family had a garden and some livestock so he had some idea of what was in store for us. Doreen grew up in California but loves plants and gardening and was a natural when it comes to canning and learning homesteading skills. How to Garden effectively was a big question most homesteaders ask...When we first moved to Colmesneil TX it was a real challenge for us because even though we had some knowledge; we had few resources available except for online search by topic. WE really needed some real life people who could help answer our questions as they came up. We saw a real need, and decided to start providing high-quality services to our neighbors who have recently moved to East Texas. Hopefully, you will reach out to us for a one hour walk thru and an overview of our homestead.
The initial consultation is Now Free by appointment per couple through March 2024 where we give an overview of what works for us. If you decide you need more instructions or guidance in a particular area or even hands on training, each category listed below is available in part or as a whole. A fee schedule will be provided after your initial consultation or we can help you with an online topical session based on your needs.
